Safety James Sample Talks a Leader and an Announcement

9:23 am in Recruiting by Tom VanHaaren

As the season is winding down, more and more recruits are coming off the board. That means that college programs have less of a pool to draw from, and need every bit of recruiting time left. The Pac 10 is a conference that has battled hard this year, and it looks like there may be another battle to land one of the top recruits left on the board. Safety James Sample (6’2″, 195 lbs) out of ¬†Grant High School, in Sacramento, California is rated as the fourteenth best safety prospect in the country and a four star according to Rivals.com.

The defensive back mainly holds offers from the Pac 10, and it’s looking very likely that’s where he’ll end up. The question is, which school will that be.

I don’t really have a top list right now, but Washington is on top for me. I’m going out to Cal this weekend when they play UW, but I don’t have any other visits planned besides that yet.

Sample has excellent size, and a great frame to build on in college. It’s easy to see why college programs are knocking on his door. James has a few aspects of his game that will need to be fine tuned, but his natural ability may help him see the field early. He plans on making his final announcement at the US Army All American game.
