Evan Winston is a 6“3, 245-pound defensive end prospect from Muskegon, Michigan. Winston recently finished his junior season in which his team finished 6–5, falling in second round of the MHSAA state playoffs. The ongoing investigation with the Cam and Cecil Newton case took a somewhat unexpected turn today. The NCAA has ruled Cam Newton is eligible to play immediately, according to multiple reports. The odd part is that the NCAA acknowledged that Newton’s father, Cecil, was involved with illegal activity.
“Based on the information available to the reinstatement staff at this time, we do not have sufficient evidence that Cam Newton or anyone from Auburn was aware of this activity, which led to his reinstatement,” Kevin Lennon, NCAA vice president for academic and membership affairs, said in a news release.” Read the rest of this entry →
